The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Visionaries of the Year campaign, formerly Man and Woman of the Year, is a 10-week philanthropic competition for leaders in local communities across the United States. Candidates and their team members raise funds for LLS in honor of local blood cancer survivors, our Honored Heroes. The title “Visionary of the Year” is awarded to the candidate whose team raises the most funds during the competition. The top Visionaries of the Year candidate in the country is awarded with the national title. As part of their journey, candidates and their teams will also choose a pillar of LLS’s mission – Research, Patient Education & Support, or Advocacy – to champion on as they raise money.
We are a Facebook Group that helps restaurants and food/beverage based businesses get their names out there for free. We have almost 45,000 members and we made It our mission the past 4.5 years to use the help of our local food and beverage businesses to raise money for charity. We have raised over $200,000 for various charities all over the island and were one of the organizers of the island wide LI Pizza Strong fundraiser for the Farmingdale HS Bus Tragedy.
Alyssa Guidice is a 30 year old who has a passion for the food and beverage industry. She currently works as a Wine & Spirits Rep, owns her own baking company called A Pound & A Half: Cookies and Cupcakes Inc and helps restaurant and food businesses with her Facebook group Dine-LI. As the founder of Dine-LI, she has amassed over 42k members and raised over $80k for various charities around Long Island. We continue to help the restaurant community daily by encouraging support and positive reviews!
